import fail on geonameLanguageImporter

Postby gisgraphy » Sun Oct 31, 2010 7:45 am

Hi,

I have run an import and have seen an error on GeonameLanguageImporter. it is because tha iso-languagecodes.txt contains in alternatenames.zip contains two Aari languages:

i have post a thread on the forum

http://forum.geonames.org/gforum/posts/ ... .page#8671

for me a language (should be unique and for the code two ;))

there is two solutions for the moment :
run the following sql command :
Code: Select all
ALTER TABLE "language" DROP CONSTRAINT language_iso639languagename_key;

or
replace the file after it has been extracted and before the language importer runs.

i make a quick fix if needed and let you know

Hi again

A new 2.1 version is out, that was not planed but Geonames have changed the way they managed languages : language names, are now, not unique. This version take this into account. Due to the new language management, the importer of Gisgraphy v2.0 fails. You don't need to re-run an import or download the gisgraphy v2.1, if the import is already done with your gisgraphy V2.0 version. See the post on gisgraphy forum and the one on geonames one.

Hope it helps

Any feedback are apreciated
